Hey all, Some of you saw this model at the DHS open house. I recently displayed the model at the Lynnville Museum of the Coal Industry in Indiana for the Collector's Day get together, and was able to get some very nice photos of the model that I'm proud to post. Some background info about the model: Scale 1:44. It has 4 motor-controlled functions (Hoist, Drag, Swing, & Walking) controlled by Lego IR remote and powered by the 9V Lego battery pack (6 AA's), and hand-crank driven drum for Boom Hoist. It features a sliding door and functional roller circle. It's built based on the diesel version of the 7200, and has a boom scaled for 135' with a 6 cy bucket. There is no glue used and the top roof sections are easily removeable for access to the internal mechanisms. Here's the full gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=343103Here's a video taken by Sal at the open house: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFtHKZ79Eks(Does anyone recognize their voice on the video? Who was I talking with? ) - Alex

That's really cool Alex. It'd be neat to see that 7200 scoop up say a pile of individual legos or something like that. So when might we see, say a 2570w? ! Chris

Chris I'll show you my 2570 if you show me yours. First I'm planning a rebuild of the revolving frame of the 8900. After that I'm leaning towards building a 1360W dragline. It would be appropriate since we're planning on rebuilding the 1360 machine at Lynnville. - Alex

Just amazing. Like I've told you in person,,, You are quite talented in getting the look replicated and the stucture to hold together. Also adding the functions to it also. Great job. Mic
