Well I am getting a feel for my dirt side I know I am more of a "liftside" guy but I am getting a few models ready for my upcoming dio. I have added a full ROPS and screens on the rear and side windows. I have also added additional lighting on the Rops to see better when I get to work early or stay late. Also I have replaced the ripper with a winch. I am not sure I would like to add LGP tracks but I do not want to rob the ones off of my liebherr dozer. I have set up a small dio to show off this model. Let me know what you think? knocking down a small hill for the haul road. Jason NIkl Scale Models

I would also really like to see you make the winch, screens, and sweeps for sale. If I was you and I wanted to put LGP tracks on it I would put a SU balde on it too. Really like your model, and I'm glad someone else is think about logging and forsty models!!

Overall it looks very good. Do not take my comments the wrong way, but you should use a smaller brass square profile to make the Sweeps, it is too beefy looking.

First thanks and as for the thickness of the tube I know it is alittle thick it is the only size that I have at this time. I started out just making the rear screen. Then as I was working on some parts for a refinery column I had some spare tube lying around and saw a pic of a dozer like this though why not give it a try? So that is why the tubing is alittle large. I am planning on getting a few more of these dozers I really like them. Jason Edit this is made out of plastic tube not brass. I do have some brass tube that is alittle smaller diameter though NIkl Scale Models

ASH MAN wrote:Jason im glad your back in the dio it will be good to see how it turns out as i might learn a few things Well this is not my new dio. I just set this up really fast to get the pics you are seeing. But....this is just alittle taste of what the new dio has in store. As soon as it cools down and I get the table finished I will get the dio back up and running. Is will be almost duoble the size of he old one, and much better detail. Jason NIkl Scale Models
