A while back, I saw a couple of pictures of a unusual truck in the Mammoet fleet.

So I asked a few questions and it turns out that Mammoet has around 20 of these vehicles in their fleet, both in the mideast and in Mexico. Mammoet uses both MAN and DAF units, similar to the Oshkosh M-985 HEMTT truck. As it turns out they are all built to a similar NATO specification. So as long as TWH went to all the trouble of making the Oshkosh M-985 for us all, I thought what the heck, its time for another conversion..........

We start by tossing a grenade at the model, one of the best ways to remove parts from a TWH model (ha ha)

Then our traditional primer in the paint booth:

Then we start adding the red, including the red under stripe

Then we start masking for the stripe, including a special front safety stripe

Then we paint it black and pull the tape-always a favorite part of mine

And now for the cool front guard safety stripe

So next we are off to assembly, which we will take up in part II

Thanks for looking.

Yes Hummer, that is a Cat dump truck that good forum friend prtstrdj recommended would be a great load for my Mack R600 8x4 with 3 axle low boy. Remember that Mammoet moves things for the dirt guys!

Thanks for all the comments and it is my pleasure to share with you. Look for Part II on the forum now!!
