The complex of Newgrange was originally built between c. 3100 and 2900 BC,[2] meaning that it's aproximately 5,000 years old. According to Carbon-14 dates,[3] it is more than 500 years older than the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, and predates Stonehenge by about 1,000 years.

Not at all Graham, you found the link. Noel, I'm heading down on Saturday morning with a fully charged camera and 3Gb of memory cards so there will be plenty of pictures and a few videos They supposedly set up a viewing platform but I dont know how close it is to the crane. I wont mind having to cross a few fields either if I have to. Last resort, I put on my fins and swim down along side the crane. Martin Engineering; Its all STRESS and not just Force over Area!

Homer wrote:Aw man I cant make the picture any bigger! Looks like mammoet's crane though, I thought they weren't gonna be doing the lift?? Yes, that's what I thought. Was there not an LR11350 coming from Spain or somewhere Either way, I can't wait to see some pictures, and oh, are there not some ballast and hh trucks rumbling around there?. I'm guessing they had to haul all the crane parts to the location for assembly Model, model, model

yeah the paper said she came in from Texas, but for those of you who take what the paper said as gospel,well.... anyway, she's here and someone must have spotted one of the 100 odd truck loads ripping about this small pub filled island what a minute!!!!!! was that model show in Michelstown a big ploy to lure all the heavy haul and crane guys away, while the biggest crane ever to work in Ireland just snook in the back door those devious lol

Thorlief, My understanding is that Jons are the main contractor, Mammoet are doing the lift but their LR11350 was tied up in the US so Mammoet were to bring in a LR11350 from a Spanish crane company. Their crane must have come free so now its here. Delighted to finally see some Red and Black, what better way to start! A few weeks back I passed one of Martrains Volvos and ballast trailer, I'll have a look round see if I can find any more. Graham, next time theres a model show in Ireland we should be very suspicious, McNallys LTM11200 may be coming home Engineering; Its all STRESS and not just Force over Area!

Maybe they were sneaking the biggest massey ferguson into the country that day too!!

Mammoet dont lift cows, but if they did they would probably be the biggest lifting specialists in the world! Hold on a minute they are the biggest lift specialists and.... Got down to see her today. Got with in 50m of her without having to hop any fences, Jons put in a pedestrian access and viewing platform along side the crane. I took about 150 photos and I'll post them soon after I get them uploaded. In the mean time I'll leave ye with this: Engineering; Its all STRESS and not just Force over Area!

Well, if what I see here is a taste of things to come, I can't wait!. I know I've seen the Mammoet LTM 11200 but if I had to choose between it and the LR11350 it would probably be the LR....no wait it'd be the LTM....no, on second thoughts....the LR... Tell that cow to mooove(sorry). Don't forget to film it all for yourself Martin!. It's definately worth having both pics and film.
