Does anyone have details or info on the 'Lafarge' and weathered versions of the 797F truck that have been done by Norscot.I have seen actual photos of both of the above.

Thanks

There are only TWO official versions of the 797F made by Norscot.

1. Standard Cat Color
2. Custom White

The ones you mentioned are customs done by private collectors. ... Prt

I quickly recognised he name 'Lafarge'. He doesn't post around here as much as he used to (couple of years ago now regularly) however he is a highly talented builder. I Hope he chimes in.

I think you may be a bit mistaken there. The models he is referring to are customs with a Lafarge company logo applied to them

Lafarge is a very large cement, concrete and aggregates supplier worldwide. The gentleman you referred to is Patrick Laforge.

The "Lafarge" custom 797F is only available through Ralph Garber. Other custom CAT trucks include Suncor and Peabody.

Customs were my initial thought but then I was tricked into thinking that they were actually done at the factory as both the Lafarge and the weathered version were photographed in their boxes and the weathered truck still had the protective,factory-applied tape over the dump body........!

"Hoodwinked" for sure!

Thanks for confirming that they are customs,prtstrdj.{Please check your e-mail}

I always get a kick out of models painted in imaginary paint schemes with a real company's name on them. They sure do look neat though.

Here is another 797F which looks just like Norscot's style of weathering......http://www.modtoy.com/index.php?gOo=article_details.dwt&articleid=1527

Tyres look pretty realistic on this model especially the treads.

The Cat truck customs we discussed on this thread all come through Ralph Garber, and were done by an expert for him. The two 785's I posted pictures of are part of a huge collection belonging to a friend in New York state.
