..Also, some red, and is that a cat hair??! I know some of you saw the auction on eBay. Anyway I won it Was it worth it? Oh boy was it worth it. The faults are easily fixed or hidden and for siginificantly less than any new ones would cost, IF I could find one, I am definitely happy. I know the clocks wrong - the battery is flat I never want to reeve another hook! [quote=ajf].. I know some of you saw the auction on eBay. Anyway I won it That's right, rub it in and make the poor loosers feel even worse Seriously, well done and it looks fantastic. Infact, if I wasn't buying the 11200 I'd be very tempted by the 500.....

Looks like you have done a good job with the cab. Was the "Cat" included with the sale?

Sorry, it wasn't meant to sound like that The AC500 is a model I have long wanted - even before my real interest in cranes and HH. The cab wasn't as bad as the photos made out. I got the replacement lights off eBay and just straightened the roog slightly. I will display the other side anyway. i remember seeing the add on E-bay as it was posted here through a link and i believe the original owners cat had knocked it over, there was some slight damage but nothing to drastic and from what i remember the original owner was selling it was a steal of a price

However ..for a skilled hobbist ..the damage wasnt at all that bad ..take it and run ..for the price ..

Good Buy. I watched it on ebay as well after it was posted here. Anybody hear who won the Starlifter and the jib kit the AC 500. Apparently they got mixed together and the owner could not tell them apart so he paired them up, also on ebay.

There are a few bent bits that I straightened out but the main issue were just broken pins for the ballast holder and one of the SSL arms. The cab front is not that obvious and only one side anyway. Currently temporarily fixed using some small pins used for hanging pictures Well worth the money. Don't know the buyer of the Starlifter personally but his feedback gives his ID. I was tempted to email him and see if he had sorted out the luffing assembly..... Andrew P.S Homer do I detect some scepticism there?! Lol, no Andrew not at all I just find it difficult to see how a model collector could mix up the parts of an ac500 jib and 5500 Oh well at least all the models are with people who'll appreciate and look after them properly now!!
