Jeff Couldn't agree more! But you are also right about needing a larger display cabinet - need to show off those models at their best. Paul |R

Fantastic collection Tim! I am very impressed and thank you for taking the time to share with us. I have to ask though, what is the significance of the rock beside the D575 and the one in front of the D11 and Anglo 495? I have a few "memorable" rocks and items in my model room too. (A great display rock that I dug up while at Tinaja Hills, a crawler linkage bolt from one of Lampson's Manitowoc 4600 ringers, my garbage can is a refurbished air intake stack from the rear engine of a Caterpillar 637, etc.) "BIG JOHN" wrote:Very nice, its good to see this forum getting a healthy dose of earth moving models these last few days! :d/ I agree! - Chris

that is one extremely nice collection of mining models you have there. I had no idea how big the 495HR was, it makes the 793 and other Cats look small. These kind of pictures always make me want to go take some shots of models, but, like you, space is limited so many are still boxed up waiting for the day to be displayed. Again, great collection and thanks for sharing.

Chris,
The rocks are from South America, Chile to be exacta. The ne in the corner behind my 49HR drill is green copper ore that I found whilst touring the Atacama Desert region between the towns of Calama and San Pedro. There was a seversl small hills covered with this green rocks. The other piece in front of the D11T is from Esperanza Mine where I had the opportnity to climb all over a 4100XPC.
Huey9,
I know you must be jealous of the ute.....but I thought I would display it too as it gives eople an appreciate of the physical size of these machines. The ute scale is 1:43 so it is a little biger than what it should be.
Thanks everyone else for sharing your comments.
