Mark They are made of concrete, with a steel frame. They are in the size of 20ft containers, so they can be transported easily (thanks Christian for the info).

Quote:so they can be transported easily I do not think moving this thing would be an easy task Just the size is amazing. I like that Liebherr is keeping the general shape of the crane similar to it smaller siblings. I model of this thing would be huge, and I would think very expensive. Jason

Jason Actually, the crane is relatively easy to transport. As stated on the Liebherr Bauma site about the LR 13000: In order to ensure economical transport of this giant, no single component exceeds a transport weight of 70 tonnes. A crawler carrier is over 3.5 metres high, 20 metres long, and weighs about 210 tonnes. The track, weighing 82 tonnes, is taken off, and after being dismantled can be economically transported in containers. The track carrier, at 128 tonnes, is divided into halves and travels on two low-loaders.Oh, and... At the Bauma 2010, Liebherr are showing the hook block of the LR 13000, weighing 111 tonnes and 9.7 metres high, suspended on the LR 1600/2-W crawler crane.
