Well, well, well, come in my friends!! It has been a long while sense we have had the chance to do a demonstration for you all. Please come in and sit, there is plenty of room!! Everyone, please sit, plenty of room. Everyone comfortable? Good! In a little while we will have some snacks, but now I would like to begin and tell you why I have asked all of you to come over. I have some exciting news that I wanted to share with you all!

Tonight we begin a new and exciting project! I have been asked by the master of all things red and black, Mr. X, to do a complete redo, repaint and system enhancements to a LTM1300. This is for a friend of Mr. X’s and who can refuse Mr. X??

So tonight my friends will begin our journey, and we will do it together. Isn’t togetherness great? And this will give us lift side guys a chance to pull in some of the dirt guys, offer them some cookies…..

The boxes:

And the pictures of the crane I am to make an exact duplicate of. Ah I love pictures!!

Now, gather round and come close, I will show you what we have to start with. A very nice freshly arrived LTM1300, a YCC Luffer kit, A YCC walk way kit, and LTM1300 metal enhancement kit and a metal pendant upgrade. Notice the fine packaging.

Now who wants to help? Mr Paul R, would like to lay out the counter weights? Thank you!!!

Now who can take some pictures while I work? Lets start with removing the crane from the truck body.

And remove all the other items form the carrier and then take off the wheels and tires, remove the deck plating

And here comes our comic relief, my basset Stella!

Now comes the real delicate part, taking the boom apart!!, First layout the boom, push in the retaining clip, then push it forward just a little, then place your hand over the joint and slid it apart. The reason you have to have you hand over the joint is to keep the spring from flying out and becoming lost forever!!!

Okay now we have fun! We start taking the crane apart-pull any screws and see what falls off!!

Be extra careful when removing drums, they have springs in them slide them out carefully and keep your finger on the spring or it to will go flying to a land where you cannot find it-till after the project is complete!

Push out all pins-crane boy, can you hand me the scratch awl? Thanks!

I like to keep all the pins, brass rivets and parts that that do not get paint or are too small for laying out in these inexpensive Tupperware.

And would look at that my friends we have it all taken apart!!! Lookie what we have done in such a short time.

I love having friends over to do a project. I thnk you all for coming over and spending the time with me. Next time we will play with chemicals, sand blasting and fun time paint removable!!! Thanks for coming!!!

Great to see you back in the shop Bob! I would also like to do another LTM1300 repaint with a jib but time will tell.

I look forward to the next instalment and if you need any more help, let me know!

Paul R

PS Stella has grown an awful lot since I saw her last!

Excellent Bob, glad to see you back in the swing of things, but should you not be doing one in glass, now that would look goodTeeth The LTM1300 is a great model to do, had great fun doing mine in Ainscough colours.

I've actually re-painted my LTM1300, just on
process of putting it back together, and also
waiting for some YCC extras for it.

Very nice installment, I look forward to the next! She should look great with all of those extras and in Mammoet!

PS: Don't put any chemical stripper on that YCC luffer lattice, you will get a surprise that you will not like.
