I noticed that it is now in stock here at DHS. Anyone have any photo's of the actual model? Very curious to see if the tyres are actually the same that are used on the H series....certainly hoping not but most likely true!!

Cheers

From some of the pics I've seen the tires are the same as the "H" series!!

I believe the only things changed are the cab area and the engine compartment, everything else is the same as the 24H!!!

As it would be on a 1:50 replica of the 1:1 exterior.

It's a shame that they went with those tires... was discussed in detail here - http://forums.dhsdiecast.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=127931

I'll buy one if replacement tires are made available. Come on Rich Smile

It looks better than the 374 if you ask me! Don't throw me rocks but it doesn't look that bad with those tires! It could look better, but it still doesn't look bad.

I agree that it looks pretty good but to me, those tires just scream lego. The rest of the model looks excellent. They just had so many better tire options. I'll pass on this one.

Wow on the first 2 photos, there is something drastically wrong there if i am not mistaken, the tyre size on the grader in 1:1 has not changed from a H to an M but in 1/50 it has? As far as i know the std tyre is the 29.5 x 29, either the H is to small or the M too big.

Gavin,

The 24H is wrong in the photo. It was one of the originals before Norscot changed them to the larger size. My 24H looks like the 24M, see below.

Thanks Tim, i do recall there being a change on the 24H model and come to think of it my model looks undersized in the tyre dept so i must have an early one.

The original H was only fractionally out. The rim should be 17.6mm in diameter to the outer edge of the retainer, but is about a mm less than this. The Bridgestone overall should be 2 times the rim so you are looking at about 36mm diameter for the tire. The ratio is a bit higher for the Michelins. Ok they were a bit small, but were proportionally (rim to tire) correct.

The wheels on the M look totally wrong. They look like Michelin diameter tires, probably even a bit too big (can anyone say what the model tire diameter to the tread edge is?) but the sidewall depth is way too thin. They almost look low profile! About 45% of the total wheel diameter with Michelins on should be rim, the rest is rubber.

Imagine the diameter of the M tire on the H rim and you will see what I am getting at. Chris has some superb pics from Vegas of this, great for those looking to get detail pics.

Also regarding the tread, I have no problem with Bridgestone bar grips, but they look nothing like what Norscot has actually modelled! Here is another of Chris's showing how the block tread should look.

And what has happened to the 24M logo?

Richard,

My 24H has the exact same wheel rims and tyres as the 24M.

I think the person putting the 24M logo on had a big night out.....

I feel sorry for the operator too......how is he going to see through that grating??

Just do like we did on the old 24H. Go buy a "cheap" Deere 400 ADT (they had "sandbox" plastic ones at Walley World with rubber tires) and change the rubber.
