BE sure missed a trick in not producing an old timer 495 model in their old colours. Looks very tasty. Thanks for the photo.

Nice collection Art.........some serious BE action you've got going. Dave; my hat's off to you on the old school BE scheme. Man I have wanted to do mine that way for some time now and you've taken the edge off a little now that I can see one already done up. I think in light of all the other possible paint schemes the old BE version is the best. Chris

I love the old BE scheme on the shovel. I personally think Cat should change the livery for the Bucyrus branded machines in the lineup over to this for their paint scheme. I mean, why stay with the current, horrid maroon and white, when they will be calling them Bucyrus Legacy Products. They should go back to a traditional BE colour scheme.

Thank you Chris, it was a neat re-paint to do. It took a little longer to do cause of using 3 colors but it takes the new Bucyrus machine back to the days where it all began.. Dave

I'm sure there are many who prefer blood red, custard yellow, and forest green to boring white and barney purple.

And they just keep coming! Does the Mt Arthur represent a real machine? Not that it matters as it looks great. I take it that you make these re-paints over the old first run of 495 models? If so keep it up, because at this rate my standard version will soon become rare!

Big John, Whilst all the re-paints on this post are incredible and look really good, unfortunately none of them represent real machines. Mount Arthur has a 2800MKII, 2off 4100A's and a new 4100XPC. There are currently no 495HR's operational in Australia (Curragh North - operated by Thesis Mining will soon have the first 495HR in Australia) only 3off 495HD/s operating at Newmonts Boddington Gold Mine South East of Perth in Western Australia. The rest of the population in Australia is P&H machines and primarily the 4100 series machine. Below are my 3 customs all of which do exist and replicate as much as possible the real machines. The Yellow mahine is from Chuquicamata, the Red and White is from Gaby and the White and Blue is an 'upgraded' Escondida machine. ![](http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i260/mitchtim/Diecast%20Models/P1110930-1.jpg) ![](http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i260/mitchtim/Diecast%20Models/P1110924-1.jpg) ![](http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i260/mitchtim/Diecast%20Models/P1110945-1.jpg) ![](http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i260/mitchtim/Diecast%20Models/P1110932-1.jpg) Mitchtim

Big John, mitchtim, I now these repaints don't match the exact machine, but they do match the company's color schemes. Here's a Suncor unit that inspired my 495 repaint.

Art,
I really like your paint schemes. They are great! Having done the 2 (and 1/2) myself I know how much time and effort goes into them. Great job!! I have 6off 495HR's now and I have a few more mines that i would like to replicate but i don't think my bank account or my wife is going to let me! I am lookinf forward to seeing the new Curragh machine as it will be one of the first 459HR2 machines in the world.
