A somewhat long term project of mine is to redo my 5110. A great excavator but not the greatest model. One of many upgrades was to make a better bucket. I sent Jason Nikl a pic of what I wanted with a few requests and he ran with it. I ran to Arlington today to pick it up and spent about half an hour with him and his family. Jason and his wife are really nice folks and I appreciate them letting me come over on a Sunday. His house is a model making factory for sure. I told him I wanted the biggest baddest bucket available. This is what he came up with. The detail is amazing. Pictures wont do it justice, but here are a few.

There are literally one hundred individually cut and applied wear plates on the back. Cant really get a good shot of all the plates inside the bucket. He made a hammer as well. Once I get it painted and installed I will post a few more. He is doing a lot of "casting" lately so I am honored to have a one of a kind "handmade" Nikl special. I'll keep you posted.
