Here are some pictures that I took this weekend at the airport. I first noticed equipment here about 2 weeks ago, however until recently not much has been happening. Valentine Surfacing dropped off a Roadtec RX-900 milling machine on Saturday and things have been in full swing since then.

I don't have any pics of the milling machine in action because it was being used at the other end of the runway. but here is what i have. Cool

Looks like they are using a gps system for the grade with the paver. Nice airport as well

Cool... They recently built a second runway at Edwards and also resurfaced the original one. I couldn't get close though.

So other than looking sporty, what is the purpose of the swept back sides on those dumps?

Nice pics!!

I was wondering why that one dump truck has 2 tailgates (the one dumping into the paver)!!

It is a transfer dump truck. The trailer box doesn't have a hoist so to dump it, it needs to be transferred from the trailer into the truck box. After it gets dumped the trailer box rolls back onto the trailer.
