Anyone else have pics of this barge mounted 18000. Pretty cool looking. United States Army Corp Of Engineers owns it. Came across some cool pics of it online. Cost for crane and barge $25 million dollars

Here's another photo and a link to the Design Center for all the specs for the barge.

It's pretty sad when the only modeling tool you own is a box cutter.

If the only tool you have is a hammer, you start to see every problem as a nail. Abraham Maslow

Last year someone that helped build the barge contacted me with photos of this rig, i can't find them but here is info that he send me:

We are going to run 200 foot of boom with the 100 foot mast. The primary reason to mount it on a pedestal is to reduce the air draft ( amount of clearance above waterline). It will have to be able to pass under bridges with 52' clearance and not require an assist crane.

It was bought by the Army Corps of Engineers. It will be for making heavy lifts on the intercoastal waterways and inland rivers. If it can get there. The barge is 84' wide and 260' long. the capacity will be just shy of 450 tons. Did you notice the kickstand as we are calling it. it will help support the mast during transit and when the mast is raised it will lay back against the mast.

intercoastal is along the gulf from florida toward texas. inland rivers include mississsippi and ohio rivers in the central and mid-west states.
