I guess everone else is still sleepy after the new year celebrations or too intent on wishing their lives away for a model which will if anything be a couple of years away. Poor old Liebherr have got to get one or two cranes out on the test pad for the first ten months before one or two go out to a couple of customers for in field testing, then serious production can start, and everyone is wondering when they will have a model, who is going to build it and in whose colours.

Oh god forbid! And in a model forum no less! But yet the same discussion for the 13000 is somehow OK. I'm confused... - C

Who gives a dam who MAY make a model of this crane, we have had the 15OO for years and have never seen a model of that. Anyway, I'd rather see an AC 7OO model Heavy Cranes

I believe they were in Wiesbauer colors. A German guy and a Dutch guy made them years ago, but they don't post here much anymore. Two of the best modelers around, and wonderful people to have met.

Tom is back on german hansebube forum. He is building his first totally CAD,CNC produced model,a Liebherr 250 EC-B tower crane.
back to topic: Like on the Terex AC 1000/9 on the LTM 1750 the engine for the crane operations is located between the two halves of the counterweight. And it will be completely removed for transport.

One took two AC500's and made an AC700, and the other scratch-built an LTM1500. The models were displayed at a show back in the early 2000's. The Dutch gentleman also super-detailed a Schmidbauer AC500, to a level rarely seen before or since.

I can't remember the LTM1500 but I think it was Erik Siks from NL who you are thinking of? He did a Franz Bracht AC700 and also a detailed Schmidbauer AC500-1, among other things such as a scratch built Nooteboom ballast trailer, customising a LTM1800 (made the railing fold down on the boom like the real thing): HansebubePaul R

Paul you are correct. Didn't Christian make the Wiesbauer AC700? He had pictures of it in the doorstep of the real crane at an open house.

I have a suspicion you are right John but I am not 100% sure. Both Christian and Erik did some amazing work back in the day. CC8800 MIC, AC200-1 TP, LTM 1800 Seaforth are just a couple that spring to mind.

Yup. Wouldn't it be great to have those two get together and make a model of the LTM1750? I miss those guys.

Go to the "galleries" section on the main DHS page, select "Customer Collections 2", search for photos posted by Erik Siks, and you will see the Weisbauer LTM1500TY.
