Whats up with the big exhaust tips on all the new machines? I understand trying to increase flow but it seems like we are trying to recreate these days...

That is a very sharp looking machine. I've always been impressed with John DEERE / Hitachi excavators. Good Pictures.

Right because they have that urea system in them right?
If at first you don't succeed, then maybe you should do it the way i told you to in the beginning. Operator at Encore Excavating, My PhotoBucket account http://s1170.photobucket.com/albums/r521/MitchellP22/

Right because they have that urea system in them right? John deere/ Hitachi will not recive final tier IV till 2014 and that will be on 140hp and up engines(wich this will afll into). In the final tier IV engines there will get urea or DEF as it is aslo known. The 650 and 870G use the same basic engine, just a differnt horspower rating and the purpose of the larger stack as basket bal man just said is to help reduce excess heat during regeneration. I just took the first tests in order to be certified as an advanced technician on G series excavtors so im not completly blowing hot air. LOL Hope this helps Chris
