Hi Guys

Recently i did a partial repaint of my 4100 ringer.
Goal was to only use extra parts so i could keep the crane and extension kit original.
So it can be build back to full red version with the extension kit.
I was able to buy some boom sections and a jib real cheap.
Only thing i made where 3 extra ringer counterweights.
I did made 3 from full brass but they where so heavy that i decided to make some chambers in there , but they are still the double weight of the original one's.
Colors are a bit inspired on the demont colors , or on some Japanese booms but it's a complete fictional color scheme.
Full red was a bit boring to me but i didn't want to repaint the whole crane.
Let me know what you think of it.

Eef

Yeah, that looks great! Fantastic job on the ballast weights. I am assuming you use a small CNC milling machine??? Man, I would love to get something like that.

Great job! If the solid ones were too heavy for your needs, I might be able to take them off your hands. I am working on a project to make a mold of the insides so I can cast a solid lead insert so I have more weight in my counterweights. I have searching for an additional 3 weights, and so far, no luck. Please let me know if you are willing to sell the solid ones. Thanks.

Thanks guys for all the nice comments.
allisoes : there are no solid one's anymore , they where solid first and later on i made the chambers in there , so i got only this 3 extra counterweights.
Sorry to say but i can't help you.

Eef

Hi

I don,t know why i didn't think of this earlier.
But i can provide anyone who want it a STL file so you can let them print yourself at a local 3D print shop.
Let me know of if you are interested in this , i can change the design a little so it can be easily filled with lead.

Hi

Here you go allisoes and everyone else who want to use it.

4100 ringer CW - STL file

Go to Shapeways and make an account there.
Then upload the file , it will be checked by a computer and in 10 minutes or so you got an email if the file is ok.
Now you can see the different prices for all the materials if you check your model.
I would go for Frosted Detail.
If like the price just order it.
I guess you will figure it out , it's not to hard.
It's just one of many possibilities but there many other company's out there with other material choices.

Made the chambers square so so 2 simple pieces of lead would fit in there.
Small hole in the center is handy for spray painting.
Have fun with it , and let me know the results.

Eef
