Looks like nothing covering the exhaust outlets, hmmm.....
Certainly saves some $$ shipping them fully dressed.

I never noticed the stacks untill Rowan mentioned it. I didnt think they were gonna get under that bridge, at ride hieght they were 5.8m high. I can certainly understand the cost. Never see it done like this in Qld.

Why is it that most big earthmoving machines (Down Under) are shipped completely assembled instead of in pieces.

Want a 9 wrote:Why is it that most big earthmoving machines (Down Under) are shipped completely assembled instead of in pieces. All comes down to $$$$, Around here, basicly the only machines that are built on site are Liebherr T282's at Mt Arthur coal, and there diggers are also built on site because they are so large. the couple of Cat 6090's at Ravensworth North were all shipped straight from the Port to the mine. Cat 797F's are all built out the road from my placeand shipped in one large piece at 165t. And alos comes down to each states rules for axle wieghts. In the west they come out of Perth with EX 5600's in a number of pieces, Undercarriage, upperdeck-cab, then the boom, stick, bucket and track padd are done seperatly.
