Thanks for posting. When I went, I was let in by Roland Baumann who was very nice, but then told to leave by another person who seemed uninterested that Herr Baumann had said it was ok when I wentback into the yard, having just left to get my coat from the car. Very odd!

Tim Hi Tim, haven't been here for longer so I didn't see your reply. Well I can't say what your concrete incident is about. But I know that some companies in Germany are sometimes a bit restrictive and sceptic about crane spotters due to some individuals here who have abused the liberality of taking pictures on yards. Some people already have been banned from company yards for not accepting restrictions. That, of course, shall not intend that you would do so. Whereas I must confess that, as being a supplier to many of the companies, I mostly don't have problems to get a photo permission. Despite that I always stay away from publishing sensible stuff.

Thanks for your reply.
Roland Baumann had asked me not to take photos of the large Goldhofer frame so I avoided it as requested. I don't know who the other guy was but he wouldn't listen to me when I said I'd been allowed in and I'd just gone to get my coat when it started raining. I'd parked across the road at the Lidl (or is it Aldi?) supermarket.

Last Saturday Baumann hosted a customer day due to its 125th company anniversary. Beside many cranes and heavy haulage equipment they also had the big Greiner vessel bridge on display. What a beast! I have just published a new blogpost with a large picture gallery on my blog: http://www.equipmenthandbooks.com/2013/06/125years-baumann-heavy-haulage/http://www.equipmenthandbooks.com/2013/06/125years-baumann-heavy-haulage/
