came across this the other day. all scratch built out of wood! this thing is amazing. i would be tempted to buy it if he was to sell it Pray

heres a link to his website, 1/24 scale 31000

The idea for a Manitowoc 31000 1:24 ET came from a challenge on a blog ... Challenge a little crazy, started the second half of 2012, and already well!

Here are some figures to present the project:

Dimensions of the finished model:
Floor dimensions: 80 cm x 90 cm

Dimensions against the ground with weight-deployed: 80 cm x 160 cm

Against height-arrow: 180 cm

Height of main boom: 3 to 6 meters, possibility up to 8 meters!

Weight complete: about 50 Kg

Engine:
The model is equipped with 5 winches

8 gearmotors are implanted into the model to make it work

250 meters of nylon cable are required to equip five winches

Number of rooms:
In the end, it will have approximately 5000 pieces (already in 1100 for four crawlers)

To date, 900 hours of work already past its realization!
Starting date: 1 September 2012

Estimated end date: end of 2013

To date, 2,000 euros supplies

Like the original, the model is removable so you can carry it. It will take about 1/2 day for up completely.

Arrows and removable against-weight allow to present in exhibitions or fairs

I chose the wood against the metal as in the chassis there are large sections and the wood is easy to work

Moreover, we can stick, and it's not very expensive!

The rooms are large ash or oak, small boxwood because it is a very hard wood, where you can even make threads.

Once painted, wooden parts are easily illusion of their material!

check out the video! R/C 31000
