Hi guys,
You will be able to order both the Mammoet and the American Version of the Kobelco at CONEXPO. We are not allowed to announce the details until the show - but of course, the models were on display at the Tonkin booth in Nurenburg so the "cat is out of the bag" somewhat!
I cannot tell you what will be at our booth - you will need to stop by and see!!
Booth number 20010 in the hallway between the Grand Entry and the Gold Lot.

Hey Chuck, I know you said in another post that we wouldnt have to carry a bunch of models around and that they would be delivered from DHS at time of purchase at the show, BUT.... some of us would like to cary them around will that be possible...

I just got excited about going to the conexpo this year. Digging and Rigging's LTM 1750 is huge. I just saw some picture of it and it has luffer in it too. There's a lot of big IRON there this year. The largest crane at the last show was liebherr's LR 1600 and the largest hydro was groves GMK 6400. This year you have lieberr's LR 10000, LTM 1750, Sany's SCC 8500, Terex (Demag) CC3800 with a lot of boom! WOW. I hope 8GB is enough.

For the cookie lovers, I agree that the Digging and Rigging and Buckner machines at Liebheer will be of interest. For size the CC3800 will also be of interest at Terex. Link Belt will be showing their new 50 ton telescopic crawler as well as another all terrain a step smaller than their current 275 ton machine. Tadano has announced that they will be showing their 400 series all terrain, their new 150 ton rough terrain as well as a new range topping Mantis telescopic crawler. Grove is showing the GMK 6300L and the GMK 6400 which is now in production. Likewise, we may see the new little rough terrains though their big new seems to be yet disclosed crawlers following in the footsteps of the MLC100 which has not been universally available and the MLC165 which was at Bauma and supposedly replaced the 555 and 777. One of these is supposedly of good size. I would guess that we are going to see at least one announcement in the 250 to 300 metric ton range that meets both US and European Union standards.
With Tier IV in the US, the impact of new engine packages in all equipment will be significant. The price increases will be equally significant I am sure.

Photo is from the conexpo Facebook page, I zoomed in a little and cropped it not sure what model number it is, think around 6-700 tons I heard around the web. Should be a smaller one there too I think around 3-400t, plus the mlc165.

No wonder Manitowoc sued Sany for violating intelectual property rights regarding the VPC idea after they aquired an ex-manitowoc designer...

Found a story on the ConExpo2014 setup with a small slideshow with cookies in them including the CC3800 with wheeled CW cart which will be making its North American debut. Very interesting. For the record; the extendable and retractable counterweight in a horizontal plane is not a new concept. Coles used it back in the '70s and the most recent example I can think of are some of the Terex American HC series, which were actually IHI machines. As for the litigation; there is a story about a man and seeing a banner at Conexpo 2011 that started all this. Some of you here know what I'm referring to. In the end; both companies have what they are now calling a "floating" counterweight design. The execution may be cosmetically different, but the physics are the same.

Have to disagree here with you , the first new series from American ( A100HC later called HC125 , A1500HC later called the HC210 ) were the the ones with the extendable and retractable counterweight ( called Workhorse ). Those machines were no IHI machines , all the later HC models are IHI machines ( HC 60 80 110 165 275 350) But those machines don't have the Workhorse Feature. Eef

The telescopic counterweights that are on the Coles and American Workhorse, Grove and Linkbelt used the extending CW idea back in the 70's and 80's on taxi cranes.cranes is old news and nothing like the new Manitowoc or Sany VPC as the react to load radius and are similar in nature to a luffing jib tower crane, KROLL uses a system like the Manitowoc and Sany cranes also.
