I saw that grove with the super lift arms and also noticed that the cab is on the wrong side too which is interesting. Did anyone else notice the wrong side crane operators cab on it???

You simply have no clue about what you post here, do you?

There is no wrong side for an operators cab, and all GMK7550s have the cab on the right hand side.

Nice pics Jason, even I enjoy seeing some lifting action. A pick like that would scare me. You never know what might come up with that old bridge even with a diver in the water.

No, because I thought that the position of the cab was per the crane manufacturer. Like Manitowoc, Grove, Liebherr and such were on the left side and companies like Kobelco were on the right. I only know about cranes from what I see and read and this is the first I have seen a Grove with a right side cab.

Other than the cab thing I am pretty knowledgeable on most things construction from spending 30+ years in, on and around numerous job sites and batching plants.

I'm a kid at heart, so I will play with any model construction vehicle from 1:87 scale to 1:1 scale!!!!

Amateur question here. Why lift the bridge over the Front of the crane and place over the rear rather than the opposite? Not being critical, just looking for an educational answer.

I'll let Jason explain these. He was thoughtful enough to give me the heads up on this, and even made the time for a short chat while I was watching.

Jason is hard at work in these last 2:

Interesting point Dain, its something I have never noticed even owning the 1/50 7450/7550, I wonder what the reason is behind it? There was numerous excavators way back when that were manufactured with operators cabs on the right hand side but I don't know of any nowadays

Why is "phonetically" spelt with a "ph"?

The complex of Newgrange was originally built between c. 3100 and 2900 BC,[2] meaning that it's aproximately 5,000 years old. According to Carbon-14 dates,[3] it is more than 500 years older than the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, and predates Stonehenge by about 1,000 years.

I don't know the reason but I got to see that exact crane and to get in the operator climbs up on the carrier deck and right nest to the right cylinder there is a small catwalk where he is able to get in. Door is on the left side so I assume it a feature for ease of access especially on such a big crane
