Very cool posting, guys. I don't see these on Trainorders so keep it up! The pics of the Reading and Lackawanna units are stunning. Thanks again for taking the time to show these.

I'm working in our eastbound yard on a remote job. On the other side is an engineer. The train is parked right in the on the other side of the building and they are sleeping in it. Needless to say the horns where working overtime tonight. And the ns FBI is guarding it. But hey I get to have breakfast with Wick.

I wonder if this is the same train that was in Conrail paint back in 2001 when it came through our work area touring the newly revamped light rail ex. Camden & Amboy line? Bet it is. The last car had an observation deal on the back.

DeWoc, that would make an interresting Dio using a MTH loco (O scale) along with some pipelayers and sword flatbeds around: Changing a Traction Motor on an AC6000 S.

They arent putting a non tractive axle back in, the axle needs to come out to get to the traction motor, if they were going to keep axle 5 without power they would just simple leave that axle cut out instead of calling RJ Corman, that sh*t is expensive for them to come out, the thing about cutting out the axle though is that leaves that locomotive with no dynamic brake so you really hinder the trains stopping ability if its a heavy train, you can use air but its a pain in the ass
As for a field repair like that ive never seen or heard of such a thing, typically that engine will get towed back to a mechanical show where a roundhouse crew will do the work

DeWoc19, In the video, the rear of the engine was lifted and the following assembly was removed:  This assembly went in and the engine was put back down and driven off:  The first assembly clearly has the traction motor included, the second one does not. Hmm, ill admit that when I first "watched" and I use that term loosely cause it was more like briefly clicking through here and there I missed the part where the changed out the axle, im not sure why they put a dummy axle in, seems silly to me, now you gotta redo all that work again to put a new traction motor in. Maybe if thd56 reads this topic he will know as he is an engineer

The field repairs of that kind have happened. Also got to meet uncle wick and uncle mark with the F units earlier!

Way to split them up Chicago boys.  On our 206, how's it get stuck in the middle?! It passed me earlier just outside Toledo.
