Identify this Caterpillar D9 use ???? Options · View

To the best of my knowledge it was once used in the Alaska Pipeline project. The only thing I could come up with is a possible windrow mover. What's the skinny on this specialized D9 ? Your opinion ?

Yes a trench backfilling machine, think cross country pipelines an such. I think that it is a D7G however, as that appears to be a D8K or D9H in the photo behind. G

I think so. The auger helps filter out some of the bigger rocks so the pipe coating doesn't get chipped.


Dump on the edges, the middle will take care of itself.
Never look down on ANYONE! Unless it is to lift them up.
