I haven't seen anyone post pics of the new D6R yet so I figured I'd share some of mine. After the hype Tonkin gave for this model (and the long wait) I was a little let down when I first got it. Mine did come with a broken ripper (See the last pic) but that could have occurred during shipping although both the outer and inner cartons were in good condition. While it does have some things that could have been done better it makes up for it with things that were done right and over-all I think it's worth the price.  It has spring tensioned idlers but they don't really push against the tracks so you can still get the slack look. They do roll really well though!     Curious as to why the cab lights weren't painted but if you look at the pictures Tonkin has posted you'll see the lights on that dozer are not painted either.  Max height for the blade.  Max "depth" for the blade.  This is how the ripper came right out of the box. I didn't highlight the range of motion for the ripper because I wasn't sure how accurate it would be on my model.

Yeah they look pretty worn. I think they scale out to about 1-3/8 inches. The rails are still in good shape though lol. Here are a couple pics of it next to my custom D6T for comparison.

It seems Tonkin is the new Norscot! I'm actually ok with Norscot. Never received a damaged model or one without decals from them. They aren't perfect but definitely aren't the Charlie Fox that is Tonkin. I really would have liked to purchase the Kobelco crane but I'm afraid to risk it.

that max depth of the blade, is sad, I was hoping it went down to at least touch the surface it sits on, I wont buy one until they improve the quality.
poor Tonkin, all the hype and it just not up to the hype they promote.
maybe they could merge with norscot. be better than what junk I have got so far from Tonkin...

I had a look at one yesterday at the HEMS Show here in the UK and to be fair it was a nice little model. The blade on that one went all the way down. I think the only downside on it for me were the sloppy tracks and lack of tension but that wouldnt be too much of an issue. They need to stop painting them with coloured tar, I bet there is a lot more detail under there if the paint was a little thinner.

It is a nice little cat and like I said I think it's worth the asking price. Had the flaws been fixed prior to release it'd be a great deal and a great model. Martin was the blade just tilted forward some? I noticed I could tilt the blade forward and it would then touch the ground. One of the first things I did to mine was cut the stops off under the blade arms which gave me a little more downward movement but the cylinder pistons are very short so you have to be careful with them.

I didnt notice it tilted, I saw your post here the day before I went so thought I'd look for the blade drop.

I guess I did have a picture of it tilted. You can see it does lift the track off the ground a little when tilted all the way forward.
