I don't know whether to buy a Grove GMK 4115/4100 or a GMK 5165/5130
I have money only for one but I would prefer the U.S. Version but metric is ok
I need help deciding which to get and where to find one

Well here's the break down. The 4115 and the 5165 are European versions. The 4100 and the 5130 are American. The difference between both are the number decals, number of axles and lift capacity. The 4100/4115 is a 4 meaning 4 axles 100 meaning 100 ton crane or 115 kilos. The 5165/5130 is a 5 meaning axles 130 ton or 165 kilos. All are nice models. Good detail and some are hard to come by now. All depends what you want to display with it. I would say get the larger of the 2 types. But up to you. I own both 4100 and 5130.

Wrong, it's the other way around! 4100 and 5130 are European.

When they convert from metric to standard the number will be bigger so the 4115 and 5165 would be the american version.

I'm not telling others to stick to just trains, I was telling a certain person who thinks he knows it all to stick to what he does know about instead telling ME I was wrong when I was 100% right on something I know about.

I really like the smaller 4 axle unit. It pretty much just depends if you want a
4 axle crane or 5. They are both nice. Mine are both red and white ALL units.

I have quite a few of both versions, and I too like the looks of the 4-axle cranes better. I find the wheels have a much farther steering lock, and the axles will hold at full lock without springing back unintentionally.

For me, I think the Verschoor livery is fantastic, with its' tan/amber/black paint scheme, and the boom alternately has either "VERSCHOOR" or "SASSENHEIM" printed on all sections.

Good luck on your quest!!
