Here are the photos I took while visiting the site. These are the same photos that are in the slide show that I recently posted but decided to post them here as well.





























Hit a natural gas line and caught fire. A hydro line broke letting natrual gas into the system. They had to remove the pump and flush it out.

I assume that the black blade version of the D5K 2 LGP is the anti-glare package version that Caterpillar has come out with?

Is the back of the blade black as well? Maybe it's just cheaper to paint the blade black, since it'll all be gone by the end of the first few days of work. Kinda like John Deere does with the grey dozer blades.

That's just my theory.

Doesn't Caterpillars typical anti-glare paint scheme on their dozers include black on top of the engine hood?

Good thought but if they where looking to have money I don't know why they painted it grey instead of black which would match the rest of the machine. Plus it's a flat grey not glossy like all the other colors, leading me to believe its for anti-glare.
