Came across this on the net today, apparently the stack failed to go down using explosives, so they tried to take it down with an excavator, but it fell back on it. Glad the operator was ok.

It never seems to amaze to me how Demo companies take on taking down stacks. All they had to do is rent one or two 180 foot personal lifts, two 185 CFM air compressors, and have a 2 man crew on each lift take it down by hand, and when they have it at a safe height maybe 20 feet take the rest down with an excavator.

Wow! That man is so luck to be alive! Glad he's ok. It could have gone so much worse for him or for anyone near by if they didn't get it down!

It's a good job it was a komatsu! They have one of if not the strongest cabs on the market! Could have been so much worse for him

Plus it did not have a cab guard on it, I would wonder what the damage had been if it had a cab guard.

Komatsu's are very though, look at this PC300LC-5 with a crushed cab still going strong.
