Very Nice! Lucky driver. Whats the advantage of a lugger vs. a roll off? I never really understood their appeal. - Dan Daily Diesel Dose.com| All Ready Mix.com | Plowsite DOT Thread | If your only contribution is complaining, please don't contribute!

Our company is putting 8-T880 luggers and 10-4700 Western Star roll offs on the road in the next couple months. Fleet upgrades. We are parking 12 2000 5600 Paystars. There is money to be made in the scrap metal industry, as long as the US dollar is higher than the Canuck Buck and they're buying.
Hey Dan, there is no real advantage to roll off or lugger. It is mainly convenience at customer location. Some have room for roll off and load by chute or fork lift. Others may have a small area or load small punching's and are quite heavy (20-30 ton) and to leave a roll off 20 yard box would be way over loaded.

Definitely post up when you get the other trucks on the road! Daily Diesel Dose.com| All Ready Mix.com | Plowsite DOT Thread | If your only contribution is complaining, please don't contribute!

Here is a photo of our 4700 Western Star roll offs. We use a Chagnon system that is built in the Montreal area. "/>

I measured up the wheelbase today and the lift is 16' and the total wheelbase is 306". It's like maneuvering a bus. She don't turn on a dime!
