You get what you give...
Some of you may remember Gaz Evans posting up his auction last week on Facebook. He'd put up a nice little Hitachi 250 long stick, and then threw in an attachment of your choice if you won. All proceeds went to cancer research so it wasn't a bad deal at all. A few of us went back and forth a little bit, and in the end I won it.
Gaz and I messaged back and forth a bit, and instead of an attachment, I was able to get some of his booms for a project I'd been sitting on. I was pretty thrilled with the whole deal to say the least. Gaz messaged me back on Monday to say it had shipped, but with it being overseas and the holidays, I personally wasn't expecting to see it till next weekend. I was out of town till this afternoon, but got a message from Gaz this morning asking if I'd received the packages. I checked the tracking numbers and sure enough....it had gotten there this morning.
I just walked in the door about 30 minutes ago. Had to feed the dog, put a few things away, and pick up the mail and package off the porch. I was pretty excited to open the package because, as Gaz had mentioned to me...he "included some extra pieces" for me. Excited really only explains it up to that point, because when I opened the box, not only was there the model and two demo booms, but SEVEN of his attachments. I think I was actually shaking a little bit as I pulled it all out, and the only way I can explain it right now is that I'm incredibly humbled by his generosity. It certainly wasn't expected and is really quite overwhelming to an extent.
People often say "You get what you give", and I'd say Gaz Evans has that covered in spades. I can't say thank you enough Gaz. This is really just over the top for me.
Don't call it a comeback, I've been here for years.
