[quote=Antho]To make it look a bit more realistic, take the tracks off and remove the 4 little screws that hold the track frames to the main undercarriage frame. You could put small wood blocks under it too to make it look even better. The screws are easy to see, they're on top of the main track frame between the top rollers. Around new england, we just take off the counter weight, stick/bucket.
Nothing runs like a deere with a cat on its back but the link belt ate both of them

I always thought it would be a pain to take the tracks off, but if it's that easy, I'll have to give it a try. Now if only CCM made it so the counter weight came off...

What wieght is the counterweight, here in Aus we'd walk it up on a Drake 4x8 or 5x8 with dolly both set at 4.0 or 4.27 meter width. Can put a ZX870 on without counterweight, scrape in just under legal wieght's.

Not to bring up an old threads but I read somewhere that the counter weight on the CCM 385 is removable after taking the model some what apart. Can anyone confirm this?

Very sweet non-slip etched pieces, the black adds to the model. I guess if you could remove the CW, then you could fabricate a plate with the CW lifting equipment and then screw it back into the model so it would look a little more natural... just a thought, but would require some fine detail work. Thanks so much for sharing!
