The date for the IMCATS show this year is confirmed for October 8th, but the location is still TBD-between two firehalls.

Is anyone going to come? Looking forward to this years show again.

Yupper I will be coming just a nice 3 hour drive in the morning ! Just have to leave early to avoid the lineups at the border LOL

Yes I own a lot of Norscot Cat models they remind me of my many good years working for a Cat Dealer. Going out to the back forty after work playing with used equipment just moving dirt around

Just a heads up, if I don't find out about the venue location soon I would just suggest stopping at the shop before and going from there!

I'll be around. Not sure if I'm going to bring anything to display this year.

I hear there is this awesome BBQ joint in down in the southtowns...something like Toms BBQ...we should all go there Applause

Hahahaha! Actually there IS a good BBQ place and it is almost directly across the street from BRI, it's called Smoke, Fire and Spice. They serve only on the weekends, pulled pork and brisket. The owners are great people and if you're into grilling, smoking or BBQ I HIGHLY recommend checking the place out. They have hundreds of different rubs and all kinds of sauces to buy, plus you can sample every one of them.

I still don't know if I'm definite, I'll know the day or two before. I'd like to bring out the old diorama and bring some different models to display.

Hope to see everyone there and some new faces, I know inthrew out the invite to a bunch of new guys on Instagram.

Even though IMCATS is only one day, it's a great weekend show. People will typically be in the shop Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I know it's hard for some people to justify driving all this way just to look around a show for an hour and leave, so here's a few options and estimated time from BRI shop to get to other things to help round out the weekend:

Milton Cat Batavia, NY (20 min - Open SATURDAY ONLY 7-12 has CAT merchandise)
Great Clarence Pumpkin Farm (5 min)
Niagara Falls State Park US Side (50 min)
Maid of the Mist Boat Tour US Side (50 min)
Seneca Niagara Casino, Hotel, Resort (50 min)
Buffalo Creek Casino (30 min)
Historic Lewiston NY, Youngstown NY (60 min)
(Water street landing, Brickyard - both good restaurants there)
Old Fort Niagara (60 min)
Pearl Street Brewery (30 min)
(food, local beer)
Harbor Center/Canalside (30min)
USS Sullivans/Littlerock/Croker Ship tour (30min)
Forestlawn Cemetary and Delaware Park (30min)
Darwin Martin House (Frank Lyod Wright) (30 min)
Albright Knox Museum (20 min)
Pierce Arrow Automobile Museum (30 min)
Buffalo Zoo (25 min)

Some shopping alternatives for other family members less interested in models:

Niagara Falls Fashion Outlets (30 min)
Walden Galleria Mall (20 min)
Boulevard Mall (15 min)
Eastern Hills Mall (10 min)
Elmwood Ave, Buffalo (30 min)

I will stop by the show, not sure if I'm getting a table or not this year - haven't really built anything since DHS show!

Less then a week!

A good idea for a side trip:

Milton Cat Batavia is open from 7:00am-12:00pm that day, some of us might head out there before the show. They have some models, clothing, hats and a huge equipment yard. It's about a 30 minute drive from their place to the show, pretty much a direct shot.

Milton Cat Batavia
4610 E. Saile Drive
Batavia, NY 14020

Hours of Operation
M-F: 7:00am - 5:00pm
Saturday Parts Department Hours 7:00am - 12:00pm
Directions
Take exit 48/Batavia off the NYS Thruway/Rte 90. After the toll booth, take a right onto Rte 98 and go for about a mile. Turn right onto West Saile Drive by Boyles Motor Trucks. West Saile Drive will turn into East Saile Drive. Milton CAT is on the right opposite the airport.

What a great weekend, I can't thank BRI enough for hosting this event. Also, a huge thanks to all the people who attended the show - especially those who had to drive from a ways away. We had guys here from Michigan, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Up-Upstate New York, Pennsylvania and beyond. Without you guys, there's no point for us to bring stuff to display, so thank you! It's great to meet people face to face and it really helps keep me interested in the hobby, beats the hell out of reading posts by a bunch of armchair experts complaining about the DM figures! A group of us went to the local Milton CAT dealer before the show, I'll start with those photos:

Next I'll head to the dioramas. This year we had six tables dedicated to dioramas.

Tom had a paving diorama. Custom painted Chevy trucks with sign boards by Lee.

Sign board by Greg and traffic control devices by Model Mechanic

Nick and his father brought an equipment yard and some emergency vehicles - first time displaying at the show!
