Those are Great crawlers Tim. I believe the late B models from then on have the wet steering clutches as well, which is a very good thing. If there is a series of these early 450s to get well you just got it! Smart buy!

Tim: Great looking old Kenworth. That trailer though is real ugly! Does the loading ramp come out from underneath the rear? Who made it? Looks good for paving equipment. CAW

That tractor is an '08 I believe, one of the older ones Winters has. They got all new lowboy tractors last summer, That trailer is a Landoll traveling axle tilt bed trailer. They are incredible trailers. Been around a long time... http://landoll.com/content/

I actually operated one similar back in school in 197t and 76. I also spent a week redoing all the bottom track rollers on it in 1976!! You know you've operated a dozer at the end of the day with one of these and the steering clutches!! These kids today don't know how great they have it with using two joy sticks as compared to 1 stick and 2 clutch handles!!!

Hello Tim, Congratulations on your purchase!! I saw many of those working when i was a kid back in the 70's-early 80's. One good thing with that machine is that find spare parts should not be an issue, given the number of units being built over the years. Have fun working with it!! Max.
Cat 245.....Now and Forever I am looking for industrial auction brochures from Ritchie Bros, Miller & Miller, Forke Bros, First Team Auction, Max Rouse, etc from the 70's, 80's and 90's.I am a collector and heavy equipment enthusiast and these pamphlets are loaded with nice pictures of cleaned and freshly painted equipment.Thet don't have much value once the sale is over but they are a great help to me in preserving the memory of machines that are no longer being built. Please, help my hobby by looking in your old storage boxes and file folders for these old auction sale brochures.Your help is much appreciated.
