Hey guys.
I have a can of cat yellow made by Rust-oleum but the color match is not that good to Diecast Masters cat yellow.
Where could I order online close color match can of spray paint?

Thanks in advance.
George.

Go to a caterpillar dealer. Buy Cat primer and cat yellow. Matches spot on

Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about.

Thank you, so no chance online.

I don't know, Cat is only 20 minutes from my house. I travel 28 miles one way to get Komatsu paint. Whistle Smile

It's a 230 mile round trip for me to get Cat paint so I get it when I'm already going to be in the area. It's the best way to get a good paint match though.

Maxcavator-the Cat dealership won't just mail it out via ground?

I honestly have not tried it, for some reason I thought there was a place online where that paint is sold that everybody (but me) knew about it.
No biggie, I am taking a longer lunch break and I am driving by the dealer today.

Actually www.seal-rite.com offers new Cat yellow in a spray can that they will ship out to you via UPS. Part #003-MYSP. It's like $16 a can. But like everyone said , would be better to buy straight from a Cat dealer just to make sure it's the correct color. I have actually bought a gallon of the new Cat yellow off of my local Cat dealer to use for attachments, fixing paint imperfections or model adjustments like the booms on the Diecast Masters excavators not folding correct. Have had the Gallon for over 3 years and paint seems to be just as good now as it was when I first opened it. I have drove over an hour just to buy VOLVO Grey paint to use on a thumb project for a EC300E Excavator I am doing. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do.

On the subject of Cat paint, does anybody have any recommendations for airbrush paint blends that come out Cat yellow (like which hobby paints to mix)? Or would it just be best to decant and thin the stuff from the can and load it into the airbrush?

I use all CAT product in my airbrush. Including primer, paint and thinner. Cat sells it and its has simple instructions to use. My paint matches 100%.

Dex, I have popped the nozzle out of the spray can head, put in a piece of brass tubing, and spray it into a recovery container. Then I spray it with the airbrush without diluting. Works great. Whistle Ken

I bought a couple of CAT yellow spray cans from the dealer and I can't believe how long it takes for that paint to cure.
I painted a part 2 days ago and it's still soft and tacky WTF!
It has been out in direct sun light (Florida) all this time...

Yeah, sometimes it does. But when it cures, it's hard as a rock. Make sure you give it a good shake, and experiment with lighter coats.
