Well this popped up across the news, http://www.equipmentworld.com/deere-to-acquire-german-road-equipment-maker-wirtgen-group-for-5-2-billion/

It's defiantly interesting to see what comes of it, if John Deere will allow their dealer networks to sell and service this equipment and if they will produce John Deere branded asphalt/compaction equipment.

This opens up a new avenue for models entirely.

Interesting news !!

I hope that John Deere does not snuff out the model deals that Kleeman, Hamm, Vogele and Wirtgen currently have with Conrad, NZG and WSI and have future models produced by Ertl.

I don't know how this will affect the real machines, Wirtgen Group equipment is very popular around here especially their milling machines. I don't know if they rebrand all Wirtgen Group Machines in Deere colors. I can see the writing on the wall for me to buy all the Conrad Wirtgen models before ERTL comes in. I did want to get the Super 700 I3 paver so I better get one before it is too late lol.

Could be the other way round - Conrad, NZG and WSI build Deere models.
