Hey all,
I see additional counterweights are now available for the MLC. I got the larger quantity which is marked as "series 3" rather than the lower quantity "series 2". I'm curious now, are the weights the only difference between series 1, 2 & 3? I didn't find anything on the Manitowoc site.
TIA,
Rob

Rob, Website: http://www.manitowoccranes.com/en/cranes/manitowoc/crawler-cranes/lattice-boom-crawlers/MLC650Download "MLC650 Product Guide Imperial" See page 12 - ".....with series 2 counterweight" On Page 25 - "....LJ10: 681-682 luffing jib on B10:680 boom series 3" Takes a little deciphering, but there is Series 2 and Series 3 information in the Product Guide.

For a crane professional it is about the weights for configurations (see the series 2 and series 3 weights references in the document Randy linked). However, for the average model crane enthusiast, it is mostly just about the quantity and price.

Thanks for the clarifications. I assumed there was more to the series designation than just counterweight, like stronger booms or something.
