Just a few more details on the configurations of these two 992B models. The standard rubber-tired version will have a fully open engine bay. The bead-less wheel option version will be equipped with full sound suppression guarding at the rear over the engine bay sides and at the rear over the rad. grille. It will also have the special front fenders with extensions. Buckets are the same on both.

One thing seems to be clear so far. The product development team is currently leaning towards large mining equipment.
I guess folks like me will just have to sit it out until other more main stream models get the green light.
I am speaking 1/48 scale, I don't even look at the 1/87 or 1/24 stuff.

How about a nice ccm 1/48 scale cat 308 or 313 size machine. Or maybe a nice 930 loader.

I am speaking 1/48 scale, I don't even look at the 1/87 or 1/24 stuff. That seems to be their trend. All the star linebackers, but none of the quarterbacks (as far as the classics go).

I have had many discussions with ccm regarding the smaller machines in the Cat Line, the long and the short of the discussions was that they had their doubts that the smaller models could be done with the desired detail level at a reasonable price point that would appeal to most collectors.

I agree with dpmfore, a CAT D8K would in 1:48 would be a grand slam. The Arpras are okay, but their price is now so high that I would pay for a detailed CCM version in a heartbeat. Remember how the D9Hs went over. They command $600 and up. CAW

I want a Caterpillar D7 ! Except for the 1:25 scale military version from NZG, a D7 has never been produced in model form.

Disco! Yes, an old D7E would be nice, its just a good looking tractor... I'm looking forward to the 992B model, it is a beauty of a wheel loader. I only saw once an old 992B, back in 2003 on the island of Sicily. It had no bucket, but a yoke for carrying slag pots in a steel mill. Pretty impressive machine!
