Hey all,

Open House is only a few weeks away. We got word this morning that the Best Western has a few rooms left for us. The end date was 6/28 but they are holding a few more.

If you have not made your reservations yet - try them - here is the link to all of the Open House "stuff"

Does anyone know when you can set up tables for custom models at the show?

We're getting close!

I'm putting the finishing touches on my diorama, first time I'm bringing one to this show! I've also got a couple custom models I'll bring as well, I haven't had much time to build since I bought my first home a few months back, but I'm getting back into the swing of things. One piece I'm planning on bringing is a custom Nelson ramp trailer, Lee and I worked on It together, Lee did the cab and I did the trailer and it turned out really great!

What's everyone else bringing?!?

Getting excited myself booking the rental car today. I will be there with the hitachi 870 and the cat 6020. I might bring a few more if i have room. Thise 2 take up a lot of space. I will have some samples of the new shapeways syrong and flexible material coming out

Awesome, can't wait to see it in person! I remember the photos on here and it was really impressive!

I wonder How many people are registered to display? I've heard quite a few already, seems like another banner year in the works!

Hi Guys -

We have about 18 displays setup for the model/diorama show as of this moment. That is about as many as will fit....

Sounds like it will be a great show!! Looking forward to it. The place is clean and almost setup!

Going to be fun!!

Thanks again for hosting another great show, feeding us, having a competition with prizes and letting us pester you and your staff all weekend!! My photos are up on Instagram (lumberjockey85) and I'll likely post some to the Facebook collector groups, I cancelled my photobuckt account since you can't link without paying. . JJ posted a couple Open House videos to his YouTube page, https://youtu.be/emL0hgy3440

Totally agree. After a year hiatus I was back. Thanks for doing this and keeping the hobby going. Not only is this a hobby but also a way to make some good friends.

Thanks to everyone who showed up and participated in this year's show. We had a great turnout and wonderful weather.

The Diorama and Model show was the best we ever had. It amazes me what kind of talent lies with our customers! Congratulations to the show winners and everyone else who participated and labored hard to build for this year's show. We had 20 entries and every one of them was spectacular! We had so many good ones this year that we added an Honorable Mention category to the winners circle!

This year's winners were:

Custom Model:
1st Place - Jason Nikl
2nd Place - Dan Bogusky
3rd Place - Lee Love
Honorable Mention - JJ Gilligan

Diorama Show:
1st Place - Mario Torres
2nd Place - Keegan Minard
3rd Place - Tim Rinehart
Honorable Mention - Patrick Crocker

Again - thanks to all - you sure ate a lot of Gourmet Hot Dogs!!

Here's a neat video summarizing the DHS Open house for those of you who, like me, couldn't make it. It was put together by YouTube user OutbackCM.

Hope you enjoy, take care and all the best.
