Here's the start to one of my newest projects, a 1:50 Cat 345BL Series II excavator. The base model is an old Norscot 345B MH (material handler). So far I've removed the engine cover, which will be rebuilt with brass, removed all the steps around the body and filed down the lights that were molded into the top of the cab. Along with that I've removed a lot of metal from the swing motor/boom mount location as seen in the photos. Got the inspiration from a 345BL II that was on site next door to me, which enabled me to take many photos and climb all over the machine to get exactly what I needed. Be patient with updates as I have other things that I must work on, hopefully I'll be able to knock most of this project out this winter. "/> "/> "/> Here's photos of the real machine- "/> "/>

This is awesome, i'll be watching this closely, I really wish CCM would venture into the CAT reline era. I hope to build one similar one day. Great start! Rowan. 1:25th scale CAT 375L excavator

Will be following your project with great interest. That rig was one of my favorite machines to operate. Mike

Rowan. Thanks, that’s great to hear! I’ve been waiting on CCM to make one forever, guess I finally waited long enough haha

That looks like a good project. I have seen several of these 345B's not too many of them get done up right. Best of luck on your project.

That’s one reason why I wanted to do this build, too many people just swap it out with the 1:64 parts, it looks fine but isn’t correct at all.
