Got a chance to see a friend of mine logging with an Eagle Claw grapple carriage on his Jewell conversion Link-Belt 290 tong tosser. Really interesting set up that you don't see very often around here. Pretty slick way to catch little corners and not have to change roads on the yarder for half a day of work.













The grapples are run with the skidding line, theres a clamp that sets on the skyline and when you go in or out on the skidding line the grapples will open and close. As far as I understand this one works the same as the big grapples they run up in British Colombia. I was able to get some video footage but I'll apologize right now for my rambling. The video turned out a bit over exposed (still learning that feature on my camera lol).
