Hello guys -
Did you know I have a blog? I have not been faithful posting but I will tell you there are some brass trucks posted up there that are hand made by Turtle Models and you just have to see them!
These trucks are both sold already and you don't even want to know the price. The first is a R Mack with lowboy trailer in Kenmore company colors. Kenmore is a company in Akron, Ohio that runs all kinds of equipment. The model was built from scratch in brass - only using an ASMITH tractor as the basis for the cab. The trailer and all of the components you see were handbuilt in brass.
The second truck is a modified Kenworth C500 with a Frac Trailer. A few years back, Tim Twitchell posted a photo of a Frac Trailer and said that "someone should make this model". That appeared to be a challenge dropped in to Turtle Models as he started making this model over 3 years ago. Because of his job, he could only work on the model in the winter times and finally he finished the masterpiece last month.
We showed both of these models at the Watch Fob Show this last weekend and a photo was sent out to a private collector and both models sold on the spot. But we can still enjoy the photos of these fantastic models. I will post some early photos of the brass trailer and then some final shots over time.
Take a look and enjoy!
Chuck

Come on guys. It's hardly anything to argue over. Great looking trucks that probably cost $5,000.00 each. I never owned a Turtle model, just couldn't put out that kind of cash. Chuck's trucks are fine with me. i still like ASAM trucks too. Nice thread Chuckie. CAW

I’ve always wondered where that 999 painted in Walsh colors ended up

Wow, I was just on your blog when you posted the new pictures. That KW and Frac Trailer are beyond belief. I don't know how someone can make a model like that. It could rank as the best model ever seen on this Forum. Now Chuck, tell us how much that would cost. CAW

The frac trailer is insane. My vote for favorite repaint still goes to the Walsh 999. Thanks for posting the photos Chuck

Chuck I agree with Quinella if I could post pictures pictures, I myself would do more posting. Pictures drive peoples comments be them good or not so good. I after many years on the forum have yet to master how to post pictures, I must be to old to learn new tricks. I do believe if more pictures are posted more activity would probably follow. Steve

Steve and Quin,
Yes, I agree. I understand that some companies have stopped the free photo hosting services. But I believe other companies are still offering this ability. Perhaps someone smarter than I am can post here how to handle photos in the present scenario. What is the best way to get your pics here on the forum?
And BTW, I did post more photos of the Turtle models made in the past. I am very surprised at how many models this guy made!
