The IH KB8 is a lot bigger cab, but in real life is about the same size as the White. I like them though, and have a bumch of them. One of my favorites. I cut the beaver tail off, added a third axle with a brass c-channel on the rear with machined light sockets and jewel lights. I covered the rear area over the axles with a piece of diamond plate.

CAW: Loading dock at the factory, and a loading ramp at the dealership. Years ago I had my truck leased to White Brothers and hauled loaders out of the Dresser Plant in Libertyville, Illinois. I would back a doubledrop into their building up to a 36 in. nigh loading dock, and they would drive the loader over the rear onto the trailer. At the dealer, I would back it off the same way, onto a ramp. All dealers usually have a loading ramp because a lot of smaller equipment is shipped on step decks. Ken

Looking at the trailer, I forgot to add red marker lights on the rear corners.

The KB8 was a single axle (Bantam Crane) I think with a black trailer. I changed the cab onto the tandem axle White frame that the truck crane came on, added fender turn signals, Berkshire Valley 5th wheel, winch, deck plate, marz light, work lights, and Helders Motor Service decals.

Now I know why I see so many CAT pieces being hauled on a drop deck around Savannah Georgia. They must be coming from a nearby CAT dealer, or they are coming off a ship in port. Are CAT pieces shipped by boat to the South or by rail? Every time I go to Savannah I see CAT pieces being hauled North.

Thanks Graham. CAW, What you see is coming out of the port. A lot of the smaller equipment is still made over seas and Savannah is where a lot of it comes into the US and put on step decks (cheap freight).

I remember as a young kid watching guys from Latrobe Construction load a 2 axle Roger's trailer like your model from the side with wooden blocks! They made it look easy. Now I realize its not. Then turning the tracked machine on the deck. Nice model.
