Bought by Weiler, who makes asphalt paving products sold by Caterpillar dealers. Skidders, wheel/track feller bunchers and knuckleboom loaders. Will still be sold by Caterpillar dealers.

Smart move by Cat. I think they got too big for their britches, and it came to a head with the CT truck line, now they are consolidating and getting back to basics.

This is what I'm wondering too, after seeing this news a while back I was first confused but after thinking more about it my guess is this is exactly what they're trying to do. I think overall it will be a smart move for Caterpillar.
