Guy very nice depiction of load and hauling equipment. The video was great and that aircraft is insane, it is amazing it can even get off the ground.

We forget about horsepower for a while with this "real horses" transport in UK during the sixties:

Albion Chieftain Super Six 4x2/2 tractor (modified Corgi model) + Sparshatts/Carrimore 1-axle horsebox semi-trailer (modified Corgi Heritage model), carrying 5 racing horses (Minicirque kits)

Modification on-going on a luxury cars road haulage (let's say from UK to Monaco!):

At front, from left to right: Bentley/Mulliner Continental S2 cabriolet and Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith limousine (modified Dinky Toys models), Bentley Continental S1 coupe (modified Corgi Toys model) and Rolls-Royce Phantom V limo (modified Dinky Toys model),

At rear: DAF FA 1900 DNT 4x2/2 truck equipped with an unknown brand car carrier body (modified Lion Car and Siku body) + close-coupling 2-axle drawbar trailer of unknown brand (modified Siku model).

To be continued.

Guy have never seen a model of a horse trailer before that is very nice. Are you sure that load of luxury cars isn’t going from the UK to North Carolina in the US, because there is an older gentleman who takes his vehicle ownership very seriously he has 3 of the nicest looking Smart cars I have ever seen. The car hauler with the four high end rides is also very nice, what are you guys getting for Christmas? You have everything.

Steve,

The problem with collecting models is that "new fronts" are opening all the time: as my funds for that hobby are far from being unlimited, I have to decide all the time between cheap models on ebay (no box, small chips, etc) for mods and new releases at a reasonably low price.
For example, all pieces of the luxury 1/48-1/50 cars transport scene were found on ebay at low cost: they were all, either repaints or damaged models, sold without box, etc. The Siku unit was made of a 1/55 cab simply riveted on a 1/50 body with no chassis, while Lion Toys cab/chassis and boxes were used for 2 different models (the car transport set and a Magirus-Deutz/Blumhardt reefer transport combination):

I have to admit that I spent quite a lot of time searching for these and finally got the first for 16 Euros and paid only 25 for the second one.

As I mainly collect heavy haulage stuff, my choice for XMas could be the latest Diecast Masters International HX520/XL Specialized 120 HDG combination, but this is still to be confirmed.

Regards.
Guy

Guy you do a fantastic job with your so called “cheaper models”, because they are probably worth much more after you put your touch on them. Plus there is no doubt you take great pride in making the models look how you want them.
I’m thinking about grabbing some of those Internationals for Christmas also, which means I will have to get my wife something nice so I don’t get yelled at.
Thanks for the information on the way you economically do your collecting and customizing.

A short visit to the Middle-East, where German equipment enjoys a second working life:

Mercedes-Benz 2636AS 6x6/2 tractor (modified Conrad model) and ex-Bundeswehr tank transporter Kässbohrer 6-axle lowloader (homemade), loading a 55 tonnes Demag H55 hydraulic excavator (NZG model).
