https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=5&v=dfhW2SpxvbQI really would like a copy of this one ;). probably will take up a good part of a small room!

This simply overwhelming. How far will we go? Anything near this capacity in the US? CAW

I couldn't find too much specs yet. lifting height with jib up to only 200m so ptc would still be significantly higher. the ballasts appears to be at least 7200 tons counting the containers? Here's the brochure link: https://www.ale-heavylift.com/knowledge-centre/brochure/sk10000/It's a twin ring! radius to inner track is 45m, to outer track is 66m. 54m radius from center of ballast to mast foot so it's basically twice the radius of SGC-120! So the base plate diameter of 1/50 scale model would be a little over 2m! The main mast is 130m high so the height with main mast is about the same as sgc-120 or about 2.6m at 1/50. So the good news is that your room just need to be a little bigger but doesn't have to be much taller. But the crane model will likely be heavier than most people...lol..

At first glance you wonder if you have been drinking, like you see everything double... but everything is double on this crane I knew already about this crane since this: https://vertikal.net/en/news/story/32946/10000-tonner early May, but I had not seen the new video and the brochure, thanks for the links

I think WSI should take up the task of making the model for this monster.. It would be quite impressive and i think they should make the jib for it too.
I wish WSI would make the jib addon for sgc-120

I'm afraid a 1:50 scale model of this crane, the SK 10000 would end up way too expensive. Far beyond the current most expensive 1:50 model. Think of the huge amount of boom sections! As I said, everything is double on this crane. A better idea would be a scale model of the SK 190, the first two cranes that were built in 2008 and 2011. But even this SK 190 crane would as a model only be feasible with its latest update, winches and "regular" main hook. Cause how would you create a strand jack system in 1:50 scale? And then there is this special boom topping system, with hydraulic chain clamps... how would you do that in 1:50? Not that I wouldn't love a scale model of it, if only since I have been eye to eye with the two SK 190's during their build-up on a test site near my town in 2008 and 2011. See my long reports on the Dutch forum in this topic: http://www.bouwmachineforum.nl/forum/viewtopic.php?f=104&t=9977But I really don't think an ALE SK crane will ever come out as a 1:50 scale model. Not in metal and even if, it won't be fully functional.

i would definitely settle for anything bigger than the sgc-120 ;). but they need to make the jib too.
Received my 4100w ringer with the ext kit. it's a nice crane but a bit too small for my taste ;)

yeap, looking carefully at the video, sk 10000 main boom and back mass are actually a DOUBLE and not single like sk 190 or sk350....lol.

I dont think this would ever be produced, it would be way too big to fit anywhere and very expensive. The sgc120 is a monster and its alot smaller than this. And I believe alot of dealers still have a few in stock as they are pretty expensive. Manufacturer wouldn't be able to sell but maybe 5 of these at the most to collectors, it's just not practical. I would rather see the ptc200 instead of this or the bigge AFRD. And I wouldn't hold my breath for a sgc jib. Model is too big now without the jib. And you cant really reconfigure the main boom to make it any shorter so your stuck with it. I'd love one for mine and have the space for it but I think it will have to be custom built on my own unfortunately

cranedude07 wrote:And you cant really reconfigure the main boom to make it any shorter so your stuck with it. Yes you can, I shortened the boom of my SGC-120. See this page of the topic on the Dutch forum: http://www.bouwmachineforum.nl/forum/viewtopic.php?f=186&t=23070&start=110. Finished crane:

Anyway we can sorta 3d print the jib parts? ... It doesnt have to be like metal.

So are you able to reduce the height of main boom to scale height of 88m (1.76m at 1/50) and 118m (2.36m at 1/50) ? the full main boom height is 130m or 2.6m at 1/50 scale. the 88m shortest main boom configuration is actually better for the heaviest load up to a certain radius compared to the longer main boom configurations for obvious reasons as is seen on the crane chart

For the shorstest boom (88m) more modifications are needed - to make the boom head fit and to shorten (=completely redo) the pendant wires. For the 118m boom it's overseeable - only the boom head, as shown in my link to the Dutch forum. However, if you want to make it completely right the pendant wires need to be shortened for the 118m boom as well. But, that is not as easy as it looks - when you try remove one boom section length in the pendant wires, the connections fail. I showed the problem here: http://www.bouwmachineforum.nl/forum/viewtopic.php?p=869459#p869459 - the removed pendant wire has female-female connections, leaving two male connections to couple! Too bad that WSI didn't think through a possibility of shortening the wires by one section. So I left the pendant wires unshortened, but it means that I can't fully erect the boom. For a 88m boom, shortening the wires goes beyond removing pre-assembled sections. They have to be completely redone.

That's too bad wsi didn't try to accomodate for those other configurations. i mean it wouldn't have taken them that much more effort.... would have been nice esp for people with lower ceiling too. Just skim through your post. That is some SERIOUS modifications....lol... not sure if i have the courage or ability to do that. is everything reversible so you can go back to full height configuration?
