I never really paid attention to them as I don't collect wreckers, noticed on eBay they are in the $250-$350 range.........what am I missing? Were these short production runs or something?

I bought a 1/50 red one at a train show when they first came out. I got trucks needed a wrecker. I think,uh oh, I paid around 60.00 for it but not that high as ebay.

I have one in 1/50 scale and one in 1/64 scale. 1/64 is an O'Hare Towing (Chicago) and 1/50 is Ernies, an old Chicago North suburban towing company. Ernies was a private run and a little pricey when it came out, and now quite high if you can find one.

We got a couple when they first came out, paid about $70 each but I've just done some scouting and all the places I looked don't have them anymore not even First Gear!!!!!

I'm a kid at heart, so I will play with any model construction vehicle from 1:87 scale to 1:1 scale!!!!

I turned one into a quad steer rig similar to the ones on the weather channels RESCUE 401. they are defiantly getting hard to find but that seems "really high" to me.

Somehow the price on these First Gear rotators was run up my some unscrupulous sellers. I've seen them in the $400.00 range. Ridiculous. The are cool. Watch "Highway thru Hell" on the Weather Channel".

Never got one but would like to know how you guys who have them like the functionality and detail of them. I know a couple of the eBayers who are selling them, and are very high in price get between 20 and 30 bids on them which is unheard of, and they get that many bidders on vehicles besides the rotators. Hate to use this word, but it seems fishy.

Ken great black and white picture of the recovery, are those 2 Mack’s.

I bought this one when they first came out, wish I had purchased a couple of more. I've heard First Gear wants to do another run of them but they want a dealer to pay for a run instead of them producing and selling to dealers. I've seen a couple of dealers asking about color combos and such but then nothing ever happens.

The only thing I would have liked to see be functional on them is the sheaves on the boom and the body winch so that way the lines would function a little better. Other than that they are pretty good!!

Steve, I tried the functions on the wrecker when I first got it. They seem to be ok, as I only wanted to display the Schnieder jalopy getting towed. I had to put a block under the Freightshaker's axle as the lift will not hold it up. It has great detail, and I would have bought a KW if there would have been one in solid colors in a livery. Too bad they can't do a Jamie Davis wrecker. I would like to see more wreckers in 1/50 scale. The trucks in the picture are Mack's, a B Model pulling a L Mack.

Ken thanks for the information, that O’HARE is a good looking model. I thought they were Mack’s but the tow truck was throwing me a bit, thanks.
