After a bit of a hiatus, I'm returning with an epic release from CCM, the illustrious Cat 6090 Face Shovel. I have always longed for this model since seeing the great OHS rendition of the Oil Sands Terex RH400. I am very impressed with this model. Despite the robust packaging of being shipped on a wooden pallet there was still some repairs of loose parts and touch up of paint. The local Cat dealer had some touch up spray paint which I sprayed into a small plastic cup and then brushed onto the affected areas. Brilliant match!

Diecast Masters Cat D11 Dozer in the foreground highlights two flagship models in the Cat stable. The Cat line-up has come a long way since the days of Norscot.

Very imposing stature of the model with incredible detail. The rear exhaust gives a Pagani (or other hyper car) a run for it's money. LOL! This is a premiere representation of Cat's flagship hydraulic mining shovel.

Although the cable for the work crane is fixed, the boom will telescope, lift and rotate to accommodate a diorama such as this Ingersoll Rand Compressor from Greg's Custom Models to be lifted up onto the rear deck of the machine. The massive shovel towers over the 3/4 ton Ford Lampson Pick-up (Aussie style with right hand drive).

I love how this Weiss Brothers North American Worker can hold the chain without any adhesive added to support him. It is so well designed and balanced. I typically have to sand down the feet of model people in order to get them to stand upright on a flat surface.

Massive and robust hydraulics are the backbone to the power of this huge machine. The wear plate detail on the massive clamshell bucket is incredible.

Hi Rob, great to hear from you and thanks so much. I've been having some technical difficulties with the new photo hosting site on Google Photos (free is never actually free). LOL! I'm glad you were able to see the pics okay. Take care and all the best.

Try using the "preview" button to see if you are actually posting photos???

These posts with descriptive text and no photos are worthless and need to be deleted.

Good day, the preview function was used and all photos were displayed. For whatever reason the links when created from Internet Explorer were variably broken, but seems to have been remedied using Firefox. I hope you are able to see the pics on your device. Please let me know if you are having trouble.

Take care and all the best.

Pretty amazing model, I was at Finning the other week and they have this model setup with a 797 truck in a nice big acrylic case. I really don't see these models for sale anywhere!

A Millwright..... in Alberta.

Good day, thanks so much, it’s a really nice model. I think CCM had them all sold out at pre-order. There were some collectors who bought a few during pre-order so they’ll prob turn up on the secondary market (but sadly at a premium).

That’s so cool that Finning Cat set up a diorama. I’m currently experimenting with some fibre that I’m hoping I can integrate along the bucket to make it look like dust and debris cascading over the sides and the teeth as it’s loading an ultra hauler truck.

Great to hear from you, take care and all the best.
