Guy how do like the Lonestar, I think it is a nice looking truck. Do you think it would be hard to turn it into a heavy haul tractor. How hard would it be to remove the sleeper, and would it destroy the cab roof.

 Steve, I think that the LoneStar is a very well modeled good looking truck, one of the very few US trucks still having an aggressive look, while most of others seem to have gone through same wind tunnel studies. How easy will it be to remove the sleeper, I don't know: I assume that there is quite a lot of work to turn it into a heavy haulage rig. I spent hours sawing-off the reefer chassis and I suspect that turning the Diecast Masters International into a day cab model could be the same sort of challenge: why not simply adding an extra-axle to it instead? Guy thanks for the information and your input. I’m a site work guy and am partial to day cab heavy haulers. The extra axle is a great idea, but I don’t like the sleepers on the Lonestar. I was also thinking of turning one into a ten wheel dump, but studying it from pictures it looked like removing the sleeper would be a problem, that’s why I have not pulled the trigger on one yet. I appreciate the link to the picture of the Lonestar with a a third axle.

Steve I think it's look is retro back to the Art Deco era. Thanks heavens it doesn't look like a VHD.

Ok Frank Q Wright, I bet you are as short as he was, you more so because of your outrageous age. The VHD look is ahead of its time, along with its power and technology. Shouldn’t you have been in bed sound asleep like 8 or 9 hours ago.

Hey Count Q go out and wait at your mailbox, and you will receive one of those COE’s forever. Just make sure you don’t run it on the carpet because it is not made to go off-road. When your moving Big Allis make sure you unload her in the road and track her onto the site.
Going back to the basement to finish the Mack B61 ten wheel dump.

I think that you are correct: it looks like a repainted Siku. Being shown alone, you hardly notice its 1/55 scale; it's only when you put it alongside 1/50 Unimog models (NZG for example) that you see its smaller scale.
