Kerst, the first car of my father was a BMW Dixi and this car had conical shaped leather clutches, too. So leather is a real good choice for clutch surfaces on a scale model power shift. Thanks also for sharing the drawings of the Clark power shift. Wonderful craftmanship!

Thanks for the compliments! I am in self-imposed isolation in my workshop, so lots of time to work on the Clark transmission. Here a few pictures of progress. i worked on the clutch assemblies today, still not finished though. Lots of little parts.   I will connect the input shaft (top middle ) with a flexible coupling to the motor with reduction case. The output shaft (bottom middle gets a bolt-on divider to go to both rear axles. Kerst

Incredible work Kerst! An interesting Clark note: They were located not far from me in Buchanan, Michigan. They had a testing facility that lives to this day as Clark Testing. I was there just the other day on a work project. Some very large test equipment including many dynamometers for testing these very gear boxes. So if you need to have this one tested, let me know and I'll hook you up!
Keep the pics coming, this is a fascinating build!

Due to the crisis I have lots of time for the gearbox. It slowly comes together. I finalized the input and output sides. I hadn't thought about these at all when I started building the gearbox, so some adjustments needed to be made. I also had to adapt the whole assembly so it would fit in the truck!   Next are the levers to control the shifting. See how that works out!! Kerst

Today I did my first test run and I took a short video. It is a 4-speed power-shift and the first and second speed work nicely. The third works OK, but the fourth speed seems to take all the power. I added another motor. It might be overkill and it is easy to take it away. I can also easily change the reduction between motors and gearbox. Now it is 1:4. I tried it with the battery with a much steadier output than the transformer. That is good news! I bought some micro servos to control the transmission. There is not a lot of space, so one of them sits outside the cab. I never thought I would get (into) electronics, but so far it seems to work out. In the past weeks i worked on all the electric connections and finding space for the electronics, etc. Although the Euc has a huge hood, I had to try various setups in order to find the right setup that fits inside the hood and cab without being too visible. I bought an 8 channel system. One channel for the speed control, 2 channels for the 4-speed transmission, one for the on-off-on switch for the tipping motor, one for the on-off-on switch for the driving motor and one for the steering servo. Kerst you can always go to 1/16 scale, we can wait with your knowledge and skill we are probably looking at a day or two. That’s amazing, had no clue that there was that much involved in RC never mind the cost. Keep up the great work.

I found the right paint for the Euc. It looks decent, the color is very nice but needs a second coat and I didn't buy enough!! That means waiting.  Kerst
