Just wondering what most people prefer in a 1/50 T880, Diecast Masters or First Gear. I don’t have a dog in this fight, just interested in hearing opinions on this. Thanks.

Well, I don't own either one. But I do have three Diecast Masters Internationals and they are really good quality trucks. I have never liked First Gear trucks. The quality is poor in the 1/50 scale. Larger scales are much better for First Gear. CAW

Well, well, well. I thought you have defected back to Cuba. Still selling those old tin truck models are you? It's almost time for the early bird supper ain't it? Be well. CAW

Here are some pictures. First, the finish on both trucks is the same, a few very small paint flaws (you have to be looking for them) on both. The tires are 100% better on DM, they are both the same height. The DM has a black metallic finish, and I think the chrome is better on the DM. The FG is easy to take apart and shorten. I have not taken DM apart yet. 100_2209 by Ken Wheeler, on Flickr"/> 100_2210 by Ken Wheeler, on Flickr"/> 100_2212 by Ken Wheeler, on Flickr"/> 100_2211 by Ken Wheeler, on Flickr"/> 100_2213 by Ken Wheeler, on Flickr"/>

Those don't even look like the same truck. The bodywork on the First Gear (red) looks much better. I agree on the tires. The grille alone, are there different options on the real truck?
Is the First Gear out? The only day cab I've seen is the upcoming dump trailer.

Rob The Red FG, Is a set back front axle while the Black DM is an axle forward version. DM has also done a set back front axle daycab in white with a lift axle.
